Guess Who's Channeling Diana Ross?

It's Kim Kardashian!!! Kim usually keeps her glam looks at a minimum, but in these photos from her celebuzz blog she chose to have some fun and channel the beautiful Diana Ross. Kim's make-up is heavy in bronzer, blush, eye shadow, pink lips and extreme lashes.

The Hair. As they say "Go big, or go home" and that's what Kim did....she went big!I must say the look on her is beautiful and very glamorous. It's nice to go extreme with glam every once in while. I wonder how long it took to get this look.

You too can achieve this look with an Couture Lace Hair System and channel your inner Diana Ross or Kim Kardashian.

Simplicity Hair Oil Blend - Product Review

The only word that I can use to describe the Simplicity Hair Oil Blend is ....Amazing! Just plain and simple...Amazing. I found out about the Simplicity Hair Oil Blend over a month ago via Twitter when the owner reached out to me to try the product. After talking to the owner and learning additional information about the oil, I decided to give it a try.

The Simplicuty Hair Oil Blend is all natural. Following are 10 out of 14 ingredients that make up the hair oil:
  • Cederwood (assist in Alopecia, promotes positive energy, fights pre-mature balding),
  • Jojoba Oil
  • Bay Laurel Oil (Stimulates Hair Growth)
  • Sage Oil
  • Eucalyptus Oil
  • Lemon Oil (Anti-septic, anti-bacterial components - Keeps the Scalp fresh)
  • Lavender Oil
  • Peppermint Oil (Stimulates the blood circulation)
  • Rosemary Oil (Fights Hairloss)
  • Tea Tree Oil (Cleanses the Scalp)
These are just some of the oils that I feel that makes the Simplicity Hair Oil Blend so potent. Visit http://www.simplicity-oil.com/ingredients to learn about the other ingredients and their benefits.

How I used the Simplicity Hair Oil Blend:
I included this oil in my nightly routine prior to going to bed. I sat the bottle in a cup of hot water while I showered (I cleanse my scalp every night before applying the oil). I applied 5 drops of the oil and massaged into my scalp for 2 minutes and covered with a scarf. The oil absords quickly in your skin.

Before I started using the oil, I had only very light peach fuzz in very areas of my scalp that you could barely see. After three weeks of using the oil, I began to notice dark hairs sprout up and the spots where I had peach fuzz. As of today, I am starting to see little black spots in large areas of my head.

I am extremely shocked because I have been battling my Alopecia for 13 years. I wish I had this oil in the early stages of my Alopecia Areata. I currently have Alopecia Totalis.  Now I am not going to get any high hopes because Alopecia as we all know is an very unpredictable autoimmune disease, but I will continue to use Simplicity Hair Oil Blend as my staple product to maintain a healthy scalp.

I recommend Simplicity Hair Oil Blend to everyone because it is the perfect scalp conditioning oil! Again, this product is all natural, so you do not have to worry about any side effects.

You can visit Simplicity Hair Oil Blend on the Web and Twitter.

***This product was sent to me to use & review. My opinions of the product are mine and what I had experienced.

All About Concealers & How to Use Them

Being that I am an aspiring make-up artist, I have been on the road of educating myself within this wonderful field of beauty. I must admit that it has become quite addictive! I have been on the search for understanding concealers and how to choose the right ones to cover up skin imperfections and keeping oil at bay. Today, I was on Nicole Lundy's blog who is referred to as the "Beauty Magician" in the beauty industry and she gave great information about different types of concealers. I want to share this information with you so that you will be able to find the concealer that works best for your skin.

Concealer 101: The Art of Using Concealer

Under eye Concealer has a huge expectation and responsibility for combating various skin issues under our eyes and in turn making our faces look perfect. We buy concealer to fix our under eye circles, under eye bags, under eye wrinkles, under eye puffiness, under eye lines, under eye redness, under eye pimples and it goes on. So, in simple terms, under eye concealer ‘conceals’ irregularities.
There are many different types of under eye concealer in the beauty market, but what type of concealer works best for you?:
Powder concealer is light-weight and blends in very naturally with your foundation and skin. This concealer can also be used under and over your foundation. Powder concealer is best when used to help you with under eye circles and under eye pimples, but it will not cover very dark circles or very red pimples. Powder concealer works best for combination and oily skin types and should be applied with a brush.
Liquid concealer gives good coverage and consistency and works well to even dark and very dark under eye circles, under eye bags, under eye redness and under eye pimples. This concealer can be applied with your finger tips or a brush. Liquid concealer works best for those with dry skin.
Cream concealer gives medium to heavy coverage and gives a lot of options for use because it works well for helping with all under eye issues. This concealer should be applied with a brush in thin layers as it is easy for too much to be applied which will give a cakey look. Cream concealer can work for all skin types. Cream concealer also comes in a stick form which is great for applying directly on the problem area.
While selecting the right type of under eye concealer that works best for you is important, how do you know what is the right shade of concealer for you?
The shade of concealer that is right for you is one to two shades lighter than your skin tone. Your concealer should have a high pigment level to help with the skin irregularities that you have. If the concealer is too light of a shade, it will give you an owl look.
In the summer and winter seasons, it is very important to monitor your skin tones as they become darker and lighter respectively. This affects the shade of your concealer. It is common to have various shades of concealer to complement your skin tone at different times in the year.
What is the right way to apply under eye concealer? How do I fit it in my makeup routine?
Concealer is applied after the foundation and before finishing powder. Concealer should always be applied with translucent powder to set and prevent creasing. It is recommended to use eye cream after moisturizer under the eyes so that your concealer goes on smoothly. When applying concealer, you should start in the center under the eyes, and blend towards the inner and outer corners of the under eye. When using concealer to cover other areas on the face, simply dot concealer on with a brush or your fingertip and press and blend in the skin.

5 Haute Reasons Why You Should Buy 2 Lace Systems

Were you ever in a position where your current lace system needed cleaning, but you didn't have a backup? Tried looking for the same lace unit, only to find it's out of stock? Over the years, I learned a valuable lesson and that is to have always have a back up. Not only that, I love changing my styles from one day to the next. Find out the five top reasons why you should invest in two lace systems versus one.
  1. Bored with straight or curly hair. Switch up your hair texture with some deep waves, loose waves, curls, kinky tresses, and so on.
  2. Want highlights or different color. Order the same lace system but in a different color or with added highlights.
  3. Tired of your long or short hair. Have a the opposite length in your collection for an easy to go change in less than minute.
  4. Can't find your favorite lace system or was it sold out. This a great reason why you purchase two of the same, so you are never stuck without it.
  5. Protect your investment! Extend the life in your units by alternating between two lace systems every so often.

Be Bold. Be Beautiful. Be You with Confidence.

Beauty Is As Beauty Does

"Beauty is as beauty does. We're remembered not by what we looked like but how we behaved and changed the lives of others." ~ Cristina Carlino

Bald & Beautiful
International Alopecia Day is tomorrow August 4th and to kick of the celebration, I want to give thanks & blessings to one of my dear friends Latina. She stands behind the meaning of "Beauty is as beauty does". I met Latina back in May through Alopecia World (a wonderful site to read, share stories & build friendships) and I remember her telling me that she could never go bald in public. After weeks of talking to each other and sharing stories as well as uplifting each other, Latina had the courage to be interviewed by the Daily Press to share her alopecia story with the world. I was in shock & in awe because it takes a lot of strength and courage to go public not only about having alopecia but showing a picture of being bald. This was something that she never wanted to do when I first met her. Latina inspires me everyday and makes me proud to be a woman with alopecia and not ashamed to tell others I'm bald....YES I'M BALD & BEAUTIFUL!!! ...thank you..lol. You can read more about Latina's story here.
