Me & My Eyebrows

I was struggling this morning trying to free draw my eyebrows. This is the part of having alopecia that I struggle with at times because I used to have nice full eyebrows. Anyway, I got it together and drew a semi-perfect brow. I was satisfy with my work. I am contemplating getting my brows tattooed on, but I am liking the fact that I can draw any shape I want for my brows. So I am going to leave the tattooing on the back burner for a while. Anyway below is a pic of my look today with my new KA'OIR lipstick in Love U & a touch of gloss.

Wig Tip Monday: Avoid Excessive Shedding of Your Lace Unit

Follow these tips to avoid excessive shedding:
*Remember light shedding of your unit is normal, just like with natural hair. 

1. To avoid excessive shedding, always use a knot sealer after each and every wash for is reseals the knots and makes the strand stronger. 
2. Stay away from products that contain alcohol because it will cause the hair to dry out and lead to breakage and shedding. 
3. When sleeping in your unit, tie your hair up in a ponytail or braid it into two braids and cover your head with a satin/silk bonnet, and sleep on a satin pillow case for extra protection. Your satin bonnet can be purchased from Couture Lace Crowns.

Overactive Sebaceous Glands (Excessive Oiliness) & Alopecia

Excessive oiliness is something I struggle with on a daily basis. I never really had any problems with my skin until I developed alopecia areata thirteen years ago. My sebaceous glands became overactive causing excessive oil to be produced 20 times more than its normal production rate. For this reason, I rarely glue any of my lace wigs down with knowing my scalp will become oily in a matter of days. When I do glue my units down, I only have it attached for a week or less because the oil will start to break down the adhesive.  I wash my scalp everyday with Neutrogena T-Gel because the 2% Neutar helps to decrease oil production throughout the day. I am always trying new cosmetics, shampoos, and liquid adhesives that will help combat my oily skin.
